With winter fast approaching and temperatures forecasted to fall sharply, the Daadras Foundation issued a call for warm clothing donations on October 4, 2020, urging the public to help keep low-income families from the cold.
For families already struggling with food insecurity, winter brings an additional layer of hardship. Blankets, warm clothes, and adequate shelter become matters of survival, not comfort. Daadras, having already begun collecting winter items in September, moved to formalise the drive and widen participation.
The organisation called on donors to look through their wardrobes and set aside jackets, shawls, sweaters, and blankets that could be passed on to families in need. With donation boxes now placed at multiple locations across the city, contributing has never been more convenient.
Daadras reaffirmed its October goal of Rs 80,000, combining its winter clothing push with ongoing ration support for deserving households.
