The Daadras Foundation formally launched its COVID-19 ration programme on July 13, 2020, marking the beginning of an organised and sustained effort to fight hunger in Pakistan's most vulnerable communities.

Each ration package distributed by Daadras is designed to sustain a family for one month and includes 10 kg of flour, 3 kg of rice, 2 kg of ghee, 2 kg of cooking oil, sugar, salt, tea, lentils, spices, soap, and detergent, totalling approximately Rs 2,985 per package.

With around a quarter of Pakistan's population living below the national poverty line, the need for such intervention has never been more urgent. The pandemic has disproportionately affected daily-wage earners who have no safety net to fall back on.

Daadras called on the public to donate Rs 3,000, enough to feed one family for a full month, and invited volunteers to join the cause.
